Amit’s Team

Jessica Medina

Jessica Medina is the US National Women’s Developmental Coach. She helped Amit during multiple training camps and at international tournaments. When Amit broke her arm while wrestling in Russia, Jessica supported Amit during the ordeal and tried to lift Amit’s spirit up with her upbeat personality.

Elena Pirozhkova

Elena Pirozhkova is a World champion, two-time Olympian, and the head coach at New Jersery City University. While working with Amit on the mat, Elena moved from being an athlete to a full time head coach. Elena’s accolades as a wrestler and unbridled positivity has made her into an ideal role model for Amit.

Andrew (Andy) Barth

Andrew Barth is the founder and executive director of the Titan Mercury Wrestling Club and supporter of USA wrestling. Andy through Titan Mercury provides a critical lifeline level of support for Amit and her wrestling. Without Andy, Amit would not have had the coaching, training camps, and competitions necessary for her continued development.

Roberto Gonzales

Roberto Gonzalez helped Amit perfect her cradle and taught her other techniques that helped her. He also ran conditioning circuits that were challenging and fun. Amit really appreciated learning from Roberto because he has two daughters that wrestled in college and loved to train and empower women.

John Welch

John Welch was the first coach for Orry, Amit’s brother, and is also the father of Jason, the head coach at San Francisco State University. He makes wrestling fun and simple which is extremely valuable. Amit’s love for wrestling exists thanks to John, who introduced wrestling to her family through her brother.

Cesar Gracie

Cesar Gracie is the owner of Graciefighter and facilitated Amit’s introduction into Brazilian jiu-jitsu which she will forever be thankful. This occurred at a crucial time, when Amit was struggling to find places to consistently train on the mat. Cesar connected Amit with his affiliate gyms and known MMA fighters to help supplement her training.

Terry Steiner

Terry Steiner is the women's U.S. National Coach for USA Wrestling. Terry first met Amit at the Olympic Training Center when she was 13 years old and immediately made her feel welcome. In addition to being an amazing coach, he is warm and kind. He knows how to inspire, motivate, and push Amit in practice. She always learns so much from him.

Clarissa Chun

Clarissa Chun is a USA Wrestling assistant national team coach, World champion, and Olympic medalist. Clarissa has a sweet and bubbly personality. She generates a calm and relaxing vibe during stressful situations, like when Amit competed in Saori Cup in Japan for the first time.

Frank (Frankie) Chamizo

Frank Chamizo is two-time World champion, Olympic medalist, and often comes to New York to train. While there, Frankie often trains and spars with Amit, despite Amit not being an ideal partner for him. Frankie always works hard to help improve Amit’s wrestling and encourage her. Frankie always brings a joking and cheerful atmosphere to training, brightening everyone’s day.

Kira & David Barry

Kira serves as the Team Leader for US Women's national wrestling team and David served as Greco-Roman Team Leader during the 2009-2012 Olympic quadrennium. Kira and David are both supporters of USA wrestling and Amit. Kira and David enable the logistics for Amit to be coached by Valentin Kalika in New York.

Bob Wilhelm

Bob Wilhelm was Amit’s Wrestling Coach at College Park High School. Bob brings humor to the mat and falcon eyes during matches. He made high school wrestling an amazing experience for Amit. Bob has also coached Amit’s brother and sister when they attended College Park, and was delighted to follow in their footsteps. Bob coached Amit to earn College Park’s 4th ever individual state champion and 1st for the CIF girl’s.

Charlie Hong

Charlie Hong was mindful of Amit’s presence on the mat and offered to wrestle with her when she had no one to drill with. She greatly appreciated Charlie, because he knew exactly how hard to push her. When Amit was younger, she had a blast being coached by him.

Sean Nikmorad

Sean Nikmorad is the head instructor at Graciefighter in Pleasant Hill, CA and is a Black-belt under Cesar Gracie. Sean teaches technique with a level of clarity and patience that made learning jiu-jitsu both fun and fast. With Amit’s wrestling background and Sean’s guidance, Amit has had great success in jiu-jitsu and applying her improved mat awareness to wrestling.

Dave Miller

David (Dave) Miller is the Fitness Director for the Forma Gym with specialties in athletic performance, movement assessment, program development, weightlifting, exercise therapy, nutrition, and getting strong. Dave has worked with countless high level athletes (NCAA D1, Professional, and Olympic) and has been overseeing Amit’s athletic development and wellness since she was in 5th grade.

Kevin Arndt

Kevin Arndt is the Director of Athletic Performance & Fitness Manager for the Forma Gym with specialties in athletic training, post-rehab training, small group Work, and Weight Management. Well versed in exercise physiology, Kevin runs the Forma Athlete Program that has been a great asset for Amit. Additionally, Kevin actively trains in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and understands the needs of combat athletes.

Vladimer (Lado) Khinchegashvili

Vladimer Khinchegashvili is a Olympic and World Champion, a prestigious wrestler from the country of Georgia. Lado trained with Amit multiple times in New York in her preparation for the 2019 Cadet World Championships. Lado showed Amit the importance of using technique without relying on strength.

Kendall Cross

Kendall Cross is an Olympic Champion and a Coach at the New York City Regional Training Center. While competing internationally, Kendall was known for his unique and explosive techniques. While wrestling is known to be grueling and tough, Kendall brings an cheery and bright attitude which can revitalize any practice and bring out fun.

Dr. Casey Strand

Dr. Casey Strand is a beacon of positivity and knew how to pump Amit up before her wrestling matches. He helped her improve leg attacks and how to drill in practice when she was younger. Amit is especially thankful for the countless number of times Casey used his chiropractic expertise to help her.

Анатолий (Anatoly) Гит

Anatoly is a certified Russian freestyle wrestling coach that coaches in Ashkelon, Israel. Amit first met Anatoly when she was 7-years old. He introduced her to the Russian training style of wrestling, which Amit fell in love with.

Vini Nunes

Vini Nunes is the head instructor at Ralph Gracie Jiu Jitsu Walnut Creek, located in the Forma Gym and is a Black-belt under Rani Yahia in Brazil. Vini first started teaching Amit jiu-jitsu in Graciefighter, and later moved to the Forma Gym when they opened their mat room. Vini runs practices with a radiating charisma that lifts the energy of everyone on the mat, making training fun.
